Cohen Announces $265,000 for Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region
[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region (PPGMR) was awarded $265,000 by the U.S. Department of Health and Services (HHS). This funding will help PPGMR expand and enhance its existing High Impact HIV Prevention program, as well as allow PPGMR to expand its outreach to the Spanish-speaking community.
“Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region has been helping Memphis and Shelby County residents get the health care they need to lead happier, healthier lives for years,” said Congressman Cohen. “These new federal funds will help PPGMR proactively prevent the spread of HIV and protect Memphians from the debilitating effects of this deadly disease.”
PPGMR is one of Tennessee’s oldest and largest private, non-profit health care agencies. Since 1938, PPGMR has remained committed to providing high-quality, affordable reproductive services and education to women and men throughout the Mid-South, regardless of their ability to pay.
