Cohen Announces More Than $750,000 for U of M

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced a total of $766,872 for several different projects at the University of Memphis. This funding comes through both the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“This funding will help keep the University of Memphis at the cutting edge,” said the Congressman.

Today’s announcement includes funding for the following projects

  • $473,392 in Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Professionals grant program funding from HHS to help support a social work training program with more than 100 students.
  • $242,981 in NSF funding to develop a computational optical system for three-dimensional (3D) microscopy imaging.
  • $49,999 in NSF funding to support the National Workshop on Computational Challenges in Future Mobile Health (mHealth) Systems and Applications.
