November 18, 2014

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) has received a perfect score from Food Policy Action on their 113th Congress National Food Policy Scorecard. The group aims to highlight the importance of policies that promote healthy diets, reduce hunger at home, ensure healthy food is affordable and accessible, and examine the environmental impact of farming and food production.

“It is an honor to be recognized for my voting record by Food Policy Action,” said Congressman Cohen. “I will continue to support policies that reduce hunger and promote healthy living in the United States.”

The National Food Policy Scorecard for the 113th Congress rates 18 specific bills regarding food policy issues like hunger, food access and subsidies, nutrition, food additives, food transparency, the effects of food production on the environment, and a multitude of other measures. Congressman Cohen was the only member of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation to receive a 100% score from Food Policy Action.
