COHEN STATEMENT ON TODAY’S SHOOTINGS IN MEMPHIS, TN AND NEWTOWN, CT
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) released the following statement today following the news of the shootings on Mendenhall Cove in northeast Memphis and at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT:
“My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones in the senseless gun tragedies today—in both Memphis and Newtown, Connecticut. I support President Obama’s call for meaningful action to try to prevent such events from taking place in the future. I know that everyone will come together to help these communities in their time of need.”
