Cohen Announces Nearly Half a Million Dollars in St. Jude Funding

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) has awarded $493,625 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for research regarding schizophrenia.

"St. Jude Children's Research Hospital conducts crucial research that continually saves the lives of children in Memphis and around the world," said Congressman Cohen. "This new funding will help ensure that researchers are able to continue their work to improve the health of children everywhere."

Each year, the Department of Health and Human Services allocates millions of dollars through its various institutes and research centers. This grant has been awarded by the National Institute of Mental Health for research towards understanding cellular mechanisms of positive symptoms of schizophrenia.
