Congressman Cohen Again Receives “100 +” on Humane Society Legislative Scorecard

Recognized for leadership in protecting animals
MEMPHIS -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a longtime member of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, has once again received a “100 +” on the Humane Society of the United States 2023 legislative scorecard. The recognition accounts for Congressman Cohen’s actions, including critical votes, advancing the humane treatment of animals. The Humane Society of the United States named Congressman Cohen one of two “Humane Horsemen” of the year in 2021 for his work protecting Western wild horses and competitive show horses.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I appreciate The Humane Society of the United States recognizing my work preventing harm and promoting the safe treatment of animals. How we treat animals is a direct reflection of our character, both as individuals and as a nation. Throughout my career, I have sponsored and supported legislation to ensure the humane treatment of animals and look forward to continuing this important work during the second session of the 118th Congress.”
