Congressman Cohen Announces $1 Million Public Health Grant to Shelby County

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that Shelby County will receive a grant of $1,043,560 to strengthen its public health infrastructure from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“The pandemic showed us how important it is to be prepared and exposed where improvements were needed. This funding from the CDC will strengthen our public heath infrastructure, making a resilient response to the next public health emergency possible.”
