Congressman Cohen Announces $1.2 Million HIV/AIDS Grant to Shelby County Health Department

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the Shelby County Health Department will receive a grant of $1,285,200 for its Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“The Ryan White program administered by the Shelby County Health Department has saved lives and continues to improve the health and well-being of those affected. This funding is critical in supporting the thousands living with HIV in our community.”

The grant program is named for Ryan White, an Indiana teenager and hemophiliac who contracted AIDS from infected blood and died in 1990.
