Congressman Cohen Announces $12.8 Million for Shelby County Head Start Programs

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Shelby County Board of Education will receive a $12,829,760 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to operate its Head Start programs.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I'm pleased to see this significant funding, which will help young children in our community gain access to the skills and resources they need to thrive. Disadvantaged children need early help to navigate an increasingly competitive world, and Head Start provides that help in a safe place for them to learn and interact during their formative years."
