Congressman Cohen Announces $1.3 Million in Research Grants to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and UTHSC

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two National Institutes of Health grants totaling $1,312,806. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive $890,694 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to study the interaction between T-cell receptors and the peptide-major histocompatibility complex (MHC). The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $422,112 from the National Institute for General Medical Sciences to study bioactive lipids.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Investments in biomedical research at our premier medical research centers are imperative for understanding how the human body works. I am always pleased to see the support our National Institutes of Health provide to our scientists and researchers as they explore opportunities to improve human health.”
