Congressman Cohen Announces $1.4 Million in Grants to Expand Coronavirus Testing at Memphis Community Health Centers
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced $1,488,117 in U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grants to three Memphis community health centers to expand their coronavirus testing capacity. Memphis Health Center Inc. will receive $409,024; Tri-State Community Health Center will receive $136,924; and Christ Community Health Services will receive $942,169.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“This is excellent news and significant funding aimed at systemic testing for the coronavirus in our most vulnerable populations. The best way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and contain this pandemic is through testing, testing, testing. These grants are well-timed and much needed in our community.”
