Congressman Cohen Announces $15.4 Million in Airport Improvement Program Grants

Funding for Memphis International master plan, de-icing pad

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that Memphis International Airport will be receiving $5,475,065 to update its master plan and $10,010,572 to construct a de-icing pad and related facilities from the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program.

The grants were part of $477 million in infrastructure grants to 264 airports in 44 states announced by the FAA.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"Significant investments in the infrastructure of the Memphis International Airport, like those announced today, help improve the efficiency of our airport and increase safety. They also mean more jobs in the local economy. This is very encouraging."
