Congressman Cohen Announces $1.6 Million Grant to UTHSC

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $1,645,076 from the National Human Genome Research Institute to build tools for making pangenomes accessible.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am pleased to see the National Institutes of Health investing in this revolutionary medical research on the human genome at our Memphis medical school. The discoveries made with the support of this funding will truly affect our futures in ways we can only just begin to imagine.”
