Congressman Cohen Announces $17.3 Million from FEMA to Rebuild Crestview Middle School

Tipton County Board of Education receives funding to replace school destroyed in storms
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the Tipton County Board of Education will receive $17,338,355 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for replacement of Crestview Middle School in Covington destroyed in the storms and tornadoes of March of last year. Part of the restoration will be covered by an additional $10.3 million in insurance payouts.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“The storms that devastated Covington last Spring also destroyed the city’s Crestview Middle School, creating both a physical and emotional hole in the community. I have urged cooperation between federal, state and local officials and worked to help ensure this funding could be received. Covington needs a new Crestview Middle School and this promising federal funding will soon make that commitment a reality.”
