Congressman Cohen Announces $18.7 Million for Local Airport Infrastructure

Funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), the Ranking Member of the Aviation Subcommittee, today announced that four Shelby County airports will receive a total of $18,734,518 in formula funding from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Infrastructure Grant Program. The funding comes from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that only Congressman Cohen among current members of the Tennessee Congressional delegation voted for.
Memphis International Airport will receive $17,888,518, and the Millington-Memphis, General Dewitt Spain, and Charles W. Baker airports will each receive $282,000.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I am proud to have voted for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which continues to provide substantial investments in the infrastructure of the 9th Congressional District. This funding will improve the experience of the flying public traveling through our region and will promote jobs and sustained economic activity.”
