Congressman Cohen Announces $3 Million Grant to UTHSC for Research into Diabetes

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $3,010,432 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for research into diabetes endocrinology. The research is under the direction of Dr. Amandeep Bajwa.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“A better understanding of diabetes, which is too common in the Mid-South region, will improve outcomes and save lives. I commend the leadership of our medical school and Dr. Bajwa for tackling this critical research.”
