Congressman Cohen Announces $43.3 Million in Grants to Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority

Funds for Taxiways and Concourse B Rehabilitation

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and its Aviation Subcommittee, today announced two Federal Aviation Administration grants. One grant is a reimbursement for $28.5 million spent in reconstructing Taxiways Y and T. A second grant for $14.7 million funds the fifth phase of the rehabilitation of the Memphis International Airport's Concourse B.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I'm pleased to announce more than $43 million in grants for work at Memphis International Airport. This is a sizeable public investment in our community and will make travel through our region more efficient. The airport is an important economic engine in our area and maintaining the facility in prime condition is critical in drawing future economic development to Memphis."
