Congressman Cohen Announces $674,128 Grant to UTHSC

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $674,128 for extended interventions to promote long-term physical activity in African American cancer survivors from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Encouraging older cancer survivors to maintain healthy habits will improve their overall quality of life and, in many cases, extend it. Interventions by our medical school staff and students will encourage physical activity in this patient cohort, and are a good investment.”
