Congressman Cohen Announces $822,646 Grant to the UTHSC

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $822,646 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to study fungal-bacterial dynamics driving dysregulated host response and lethal synergism.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“As the climate grows warmer, a better understanding of fungal and bacterial infections will grow in importance. I am pleased to know that our Memphis-based medical school is delving into these mysteries to come up with potential insights into their dynamics.”
