Congressman Cohen Announces Grant to Mid-South Minority Business Center

Commerce Department funding for job creation and retention


WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Mid-South Minority Council TADP Inc., an agency providing services to minority business enterprises, will receive a U.S. Department of Commerce grant of $285,400 to spur job creation and retention.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Memphis is home to scores of well-qualified, high potential minority entrepreneurs. This funding will assist minority businesses in our community so they can achieve higher levels of growth and competitiveness. This will also increase and strengthen our local workforce.”

Congressman Cohen worked several years to secure funding for an MBDA Business Center in Memphis, which opened in 2012.
