Congressman Cohen Announces International Energy Grid Research Grant to the University of Memphis

National Science Foundation funding of $499,998

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a grant of $499,998 for an International Grid Research and Advanced Training in Energy (InteGRATE) program from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The program, which will collaborate with the Technische Universitat Munchen in Germany, is under the direction of Dr. Alexander J. Headly, as assistant professor of mechanical engineering, Dr. Mohammadreza Davoodi, an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, and Dr. Yong Hoon Lee, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Students participating in the InteGRATE program will improve their technical skills, gain a global perspective, and learn about how policies and infrastructure affect a rapidly evolving energy sector. I congratulate Drs. Headley, Davoodi and Lee and the University on being awarded this prestigious NSF grant.”
