Congressman Cohen Announces Kidney Research Grant to UTHSC

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced a $611,240 grant to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) to study the regulation of kidney function and blood pressure in aging populations. The funding comes from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“As our population grows older, it is important to understand how aging affects major organs. This research will provide useful insights that can be used in clinical and therapeutic settings and lead to better qualities of life.”
