Congressman Cohen Announces Low-Income Home Energy Assistance

Tennessee to receive $68.1 million
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that Tennessee will be receiving $68,117,175 in Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding, supplemented by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) that he alone in the current Tennessee Congressional delegation supported.
The IIJA portion of the LIHEAP funding totals $1,701,882.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“This critical funding helps low-income households pay home heating bills, prevents energy shutoffs or restores service and allows for energy-related home repairs and weatherization. It is a good investment in improving the health, welfare and safety of Tennessee residents.”
