Congressman Cohen Announces Minority Health Grant to UTHSC

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a $741,494 grant from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities to address “System-Level Barriers and Improve Medication Adherence in Socioeconomically Disadvantaged Populations.”

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“Medicine only works when patients use it correctly and follow the guidelines providers specify. This research should improve adherence to medical guidance for vulnerable patients and improve health outcomes.”
