Congressman Cohen Announces National Science Foundation Grant to University of Memphis

Funding aimed at teaching statistics

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a member of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology, today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a grant of $297,822 from the National Science Foundation to improve statistical literacy.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"The STEM disciplines are a critical foundation for learning. Strengthening statistical literacy is one area that will pay dividends as students proceed in a variety of academic subjects. Familiarity with statistics is an important aspect of many jobs, so this grant is also valuable in supporting future workers' skills."
