Congressman Cohen Announces NIH Grant for UTHSC Medical Equipment

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $616,949 from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for an instrument called a Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“I am always pleased to see the NIH make capital investments in our medical school. This research tool used in oncology and other diagnostic fields will modernize the equipment available to medical students and improve accuracy and outcomes.”
