Congressman Cohen Announces Over $4 Million in Federal Funding for Memphis Health Center
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Memphis Health Center has been awarded a grant of $4,499,085 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The funding comes through the Health Resource and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Health Center Cluster grant program.
“The Memphis Health Center provides essential health services to the Memphis community,” Congressman Cohen stated. “This federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services will help keep the Memphis Health Center going strong so that more Memphians can receive the care they need and deserve.”
The new federal funds are being awarded under HHS’s Health Center Cluster competing continuation grant program. The purpose of the grant is to provide financial assistance to health centers to support the continuation of comprehensive primary health care services to underserved areas or populations.
