Congressman Cohen Announces Three National Endowment for the Arts Grants to Memphis Institutions

Funding for mural design, storytelling and art courses for older adults
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that three Memphis-based arts organizations will receive $45,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Carpenter Art Garden will receive $10,000 to support the design and creation of a mural and a kinetic art installation. The Center for Transforming Communities will receive $10,000 to support the “Measuring Love Fellowship,” an arts research and multidisciplinary storytelling project. And Creative Aging Memphis will receive $25,000 to support studio arts courses for older adults.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“Federal support for the arts stimulates our creative community and strengthens our commitment to getting our citizens involved in the arts. These NEA investments in arts organizations around Memphis will reap big aesthetic rewards.”
