Congressman Cohen Applauds Two NIH Grants to UTHSC

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center will be receiving two significant research grants from the National Institutes of Health. The first, for $756,105, is from the National Institute for Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for work on “Prenatal Longitudinal Metabolomics Profiling for Early Childhood Growth Trajectories and Obesity Risk in a U.S. Biracial Birth Cohort.” The second, for $763,156, from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, is for work on Angiotensins, Prostaglandins and Adrenergic Interactions.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I am always pleased to see the National Institutes investing in research in our medical school. These grants will advance knowledge and improve health outcomes while strengthening our biomedical research capabilities.”
