Congressman Cohen Commemorates Veterans Day

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen released the following statement commemorating this year’s Veterans Day:
“Each November 11, we pause to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country in uniform and thank them for that service. As we honor our veterans, we must also keep our promises to them by providing outstanding medical care at Department of Veterans Affairs facilities so they receive the state-of-the-art treatment they deserve. For those transitioning from the armed services to civilian life, we need to ensure they have good-paying jobs, strong educational opportunities, and access to student loan relief if applicable. I am always proud to work on legislation to ensure veterans receive the benefits they have been promised. Earlier this week, I joined my Congressional colleagues in introducing the Veterans Protection from Fraud Act.
“Although we are no longer at war, we have thousands of sailors, soldiers, airmen and Marines at bases, and in harm’s way, around the world. On this Veterans Day, we thank them for their sacrifice and look forward to their safe return home. I hope everyone will take the time on this Veterans Day to thank a veteran and appreciate the sacrifices that they and their families have made.”
