Congressman Cohen Congratulates Cecile Richards on Her Work for Planned Parenthood
Says she was “a true champion of women’s rights”
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) Friday congratulated Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards for her 12 years steering the women's health agency, and made the following statement:
"Cecile has shown that, through determination and hard work, expanding women's rights can be achieved. She has vigorously and tirelessly fought to protect the well-established legal reproductive rights of women, all the while increasing the reach of Planned Parenthood. She is a true champion of women's rights.
"Cecile is a great spokesperson for Planned Parenthood and has always fully engaged on the issues. I wish Cecile well in her future pursuits and am encouraged by her promise to remain an activist in the cause of the right to health care and particularly her dedication to women's reproductive health."
