Congressman Cohen Cosponsors the Lowering Drug Costs for American Families Act and the Affordable Insulin Now Act

Expands provisions of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today cosponsored the Lowering Drug Costs for American Families Act with Congressmen Frank Pallone (NJ-6), Bobby Scott (VA-3) and Richie Neal (MA-1) and will also cosponsor the Affordable Insulin Now Act introduced by Congresswoman Angie Craig (MN-2).
Both measures expand on provisions of last year’s Inflation Reduction Act by increasing the number of drugs subject to price negotiations, providing rebates for prescription drugs under Medicare, and capping insulin copays at $35 per month for those on private health insurance.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“These consumer protection bills expand on the work we did in passing the Inflation Reduction Act and will both save money and improve health outcomes. I am pleased to work with my colleagues in reducing the cost of prescription drugs.”
