Calls Rosenstein, Wray and Mueller “paragons” of their professions

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, today questioned Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray at a House Judiciary Committee hearing. After noting that both had been appointed by President Trump, and that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had been appointed by Rosenstein, the following exchange occurred (see it here):

Congressman Cohen: "Let me ask each of you to promise me something: Will you promise me and the American people that no matter what pressure is brought about on you, by whomever, that you will stay in your position and finish the job and do what you were appointed to do and what the American people need you to do?"

Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein: "Congressman, in the Justice Department we're accustomed to criticism and it does not affect our work."

Director Wray: "Congressman, as I've said repeatedly, I'm committed to doing this job by the book in all respects and there's no amount of political pressure that's going to dissuade me from that by either side."
