Congressman Cohen Expresses Concern about Russian Disinformation Efforts to Again Influence U.S. Presidential Campaign
Says Putin “is as untrustworthy as Trump”
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today expressed concern at a Department of Justice finding that a Russian disinformation campaign is again seeking to boost Donald Trump’s prospects in the presidential race this year and has used a Tennessee-based company to spread its pro-Russian English-language propaganda videos on YouTube, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“Putin said today he favors Kamala Harris, clearly a false and misleading statement designed to confuse American voters. Putin said he was not going to invade Ukraine the day before he invaded Ukraine. He said he was still friends with Wagner Group leader Vevgeny Prigozhin the day before his plane fell out of the sky. He is as untrustworthy as Trump.”
