Congressman Cohen Receives Another 100 Percent Score from the League of Conservation Voters

February 26, 2025

Only perfect score in the Tennessee delegation for work championing environmental justice and combatting climate change

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today received a perfect 100 percent score from the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) for its 2024 National Environmental Scorecard. Congressman Cohen's score was the highest awarded to a member of Tennessee's Congressional Delegation.

None of the other eight members of the House of Representatives from Tennessee, all Republicans, received higher than a 6 percent score, and four received zeroes.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

“It is an honor to be recognized by the League of Conservation Voters with another perfect score for my record on the environment. If we are going to improve the air we breathe, the water we drink and preserve our environment for future generations, we must treat our planet with the care it deserves. Doing so will also help reduce our dependence on foreign oil, lower energy costs for American families and small businesses, and establish a clean energy economy that will help create green jobs across the country.”

The LCV's National Environmental Scorecard scored votes on measures relevant to environmental conservation to provide objective, factual information about the most important environmental legislation considered by all members. The Scorecard represents the consensus of experts from respected environmental and conservation organizations who select the key votes on which members of Congress were scored. LCV scores votes on the most important issues each year, including energy, global warming, public health, public lands and wildlife conservation, and spending for environmental programs.
