Says a “giant of integrity and knowledge” has fallen
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today remembered his friend and colleague Elijah Cummings of Maryland, who died this morning in Baltimore, and made the following statement:
"Elijah Cummings was a giant of integrity and knowledge in Congress, and an inspiration in our ongoing efforts to investigate President Trump. Mr. Cummings clashed with the president as head of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, defending the Constitution, and always acted with grace. Just last week, he was on the call with Speaker Pelosi, offering thoughtful guidance. His was a life well-lived, and he will be missed."
