Congressman Cohen Remembers Jerome Wright

MEMPHIS – Congressman Cohen learned of the passing of longtime Commercial Appeal journalist and editor Jerome Wright this morning and made the following statement:

“Jerome Wright was a beloved fixture at The Commercial Appeal for more than four decades, always working to improve our community through his deployment of news reporters and as the longtime editorial page editor. Jerome was old school and called balls and strikes, knew the players and the history – the kind of journalist Memphis and our nation needs more of. Jerome cared deeply about Memphis and made it a better place. And he had an unceasingly positive attitude. Among so many other things about him, I’ll always remember his spontaneous and affectionate laughter. He will be missed.”
