Congressman Cohen Seeks Federal Assistance for Damage to Covington

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), whose newly redrawn district includes parts of Tipton County badly damaged by the weekend storms, vowed that he will work to see federal disaster assistance is made readily available. He noted that both Crestview Elementary and Middle Schools suffered destructive winds from a likely tornado, and made the following statement:

“The damage done to parts of Tipton County is devastating and the loss of life elsewhere in the Mid-South region is almost unthinkable. I am working with local, state and federal authorities to assure that assistance is quickly made available so that these communities can be made whole. My thoughts are with those suffering through this natural disaster, and for the first responders rendering aid.”
