In floor speech, says “we need to stand with democracy…and against Putin”
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) spoke from the House floor tonight urging his colleagues to support a resolution, the Support Ukraine Act, supporting aide to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
In those remarks, he said in part:
“This is a fight for supporting a country that is standing up to aggression, from Russia…people who kill innocent children, women and civilians on a regular basis with missile attacks and drone attacks. We need to stand with democracy and with freedom and courage and against authoritarianism, and against Putin. I support this resolution. I’m proud to do it and I thank the Ukrainian people for their sacrifice and their valor.”
