Congressman Cohen Urges Absentee Voters to Drop Off Ballots in Bartlett

Time is too short to rely on U.S. Post Office delivery now
MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today urged constituents who have received absentee mail-in ballots to take them to the Bartlett Post Office and drop them in the dropbox. With just days before this Tuesday's November 3 election, Congressman Cohen is concerned that the U.S. Post Office might not be able to deliver mailed-in ballots from remote locations in time to be counted.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
"This summer, we saw why the Trump administration wanted to meddle in postal operations to delay delivery of what everyone knew would be a record number of mail-in ballots because of the ongoing pandemic. That cynical strategy can still be upended if those who have received absentee mail-in ballots hand deliver them to the Bartlett Post Office dropbox by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3 – Election Day. This solution guarantees that every vote will count."
The Bartlett Post Office address is 2966 Elmore Park Road. Absentee ballot envelopes must have first class postage. The Shelby County Election Commission will not accept absentee ballots that are hand delivered to its offices. Voters can also still FedEx their ballots to the Shelby County Election Commission. The Election Commission's address is 980 Nixon Drive, Memphis, TN, 38134.
