Congressman Cohen Urges Long-Term Reauthorization of Federal Aviation Administration

February 29, 2024

In floor speech, regrets need to vote on third short-term bill

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), the Ranking Member of the Aviation Subcommittee, today spoke from the House floor in favor of another short-term extension of Federal Aviation Administration programs and authorities. However, he also noted that continued short-term extensions of the FAA’s existing authorities postpones implementation of carefully drafted legislation intended to address a host of aviation priorities for the next five years.

See his remarks here.

The vote on passage of the measure was 401 to 19.
