Congressman Cohen Urges Support for Israel
In House floor speech, says Hamas barbarity must be acknowledged
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) spoke from the House floor this morning, urging support for Israel and recognition of the barbarity of Hamas’ October 7 surprise attack on Israeli civilians. Later today, Congressman Cohen will attend the “March for Israel” on the National Mall at which thousands are expected. After the rally, he will attend a classified briefing on the ongoing conflict and later will meet in the U.S. Capitol with members of the Memphis Jewish community who have traveled to Washington for the march.
In his remarks from the floor, Congressman Cohen said in part:
“I just watched the…film provided by the Israeli government for our members to watch -- the 47-minute film of the horrors of Hamas and what they did on October 7. Everyone who saw that should never forget it and should give notice to the world of the barbarity and horrific attack on the Israeli people…Never forget.”
