Congressman Cohen's Statement on the Passing of Jane Eskind

[MEMPHIS, TN] - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) tonight released the following statement on the passing of Jane Eskind, the first woman to ever win a statewide election in Tennessee:
"Jane Eskind was a legendary citizen and politician," said Congressman Cohen. "Jane deeply cared about progressive issues and good government. She was a leader recognized nationally for her support for the Democratic Party and all issues pertaining to women. The care she received from her husband Dick while she was ill was that of a loving, devoted mate and an example of a great marriage. My thoughts go out to Jane and her family."
