Seedco has received more than $1.4 million that will be used to provide Tennesseans with access to health insurance.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services through their Navigator grant program.

“Seedco’s Navigators are an important resource to help Memphis consumers understand their coverage options in the Marketplace,” Steve Cohen, District 9 Congressman, said. “This funding will help them get more Memphians enrolled in high-quality, affordable health insurance plans and help us achieve the goals of President Obama’s landmark Affordable Care Act.”

Seedco is a national nonprofit that works to advance economic opportunity in communities in need. The New York-based organization bases its Mid-South office in Memphis. The funding will help Seedco expand its network, which currently has more than 400 affiliate organizations.
