2010 Job Creation Survey Now Online
January 20, 2010
“With one in ten Shelby County citizens looking for work, it's imperative that we remain focused on what can be done to get our citizens back to work,” Congressman Cohen said. “Congress is squarely focused on private sector job creation as the key to any long-term recovery. That’s why I’m reaching out to local business leaders to hear directly from them about what they need.”
This afternoon, Congressman Cohen made available the Ninth District Job Creation Survey. This voluntary survey for area businesses is modeled after one that was sent last week by the Congressional Joint Economic Committee to the Fortune 100 CEOs and leading small businesses across the country.
The questionnaire is available on Congressman Cohen’s website – and is being distributed to area businesses. While individual responses will remain confidential, Congressman Cohen’s office will release an overview of the state of job creation efforts in the Ninth District next month.
Completed questionnaires can be returned either by mail to the Memphis District Office located at the Clifford Davis/Odell Horton Federal Building, 167 North Front Street, Suite 369, Memphis, TN 38103 – or via fax at 901-544-4329.
Congressman Cohen added, “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is helping to save and create jobs in the Ninth District. However, we have to build upon the progress that has been made. The best information comes directly from constituents. I meet regularly with business people in the district to hear about their needs and challenges. This survey is another way we can make sure everyone has a chance to be heard. I encourage business people to fill out the survey and return it to my District Office as soon as possible."
