August 11, 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was awarded $435,000 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The new federal funding will help finance continued research into the effects of molecular control of TCR signaling and function on the immune system.

“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to serve as one of the nation’s leading research and treatment facilities for children,” said Congressman Cohen. “These new federal funds will ensure St. Jude provides our children with the best care possible and remains at the forefront of the medical world.”

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases – a component of the National Institutes of Health – promotes and leads research initiatives to help understand, treat, and prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.
