Cohen Announces More Than $1.1 Million for University of Tennessee Health Science Center
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) was awarded $1,121,415 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to help support minority students pursue their education at the College of Pharmacy.
“The College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is one of the best pharmacy schools in the country,” said Congressman Cohen. “This new federal funding will help more minorities pursue an education and career in pharmacy.”
The federal grant is being provided by HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration Center of Excellence, which was established to assist eligible schools in supporting programs of excellence in health professions education for underrepresented minority individuals. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy has been ranked one of the top 20 Colleges of Pharmacy for the past 20 years.
