Cohen Announces More Than $1.4 Million for University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis has been awarded a total of $1,411,317 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for three different projects.
“These funds will help continue the important work being done by the skilled researchers at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis,” said Congressman Cohen.
The following grant awards are included under today’s announcement:
- HHS’ National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease awarded $941,115 in grant funding to UTHSC for the Action for Health in Diabetes Continuation (Look Ahead) project.
- HHS’ National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases awarded $395,202 in grant funding to UTHSC for the Preclinical Diagnostic Imaging of Amyloid project.
- HHS’ National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke awarded $75,000 in grant funding to UTHSC for the supersensitive dopamine D2 receptor inhibition of striatopallidal projection project.
