Cohen Announces More Than $425K for University of Memphis
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced that the University of Memphis has been awarded $425,714 for cancer detection and diagnosis research from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
“The University of Memphis is known for its top-of-the-line cancer research facilities,” said Congressman Cohen. “These funds will help the University of Memphis continue its work and provide students with clinical experience that will help Memphians and Americans across the country.”
NCI is part of the National Institutes of Health and is the federal government’s principal agency for cancer research and training. NCI supports and coordinates research projects conducted by universities, hospitals, research foundations, and businesses throughout the country and abroad through research grants and cooperative agreements.
