Cohen Announces Nearly $750,000 in Federal Funding for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been awarded a total of $748,125 in grant funding for two different projects. The funding announced today is from the Department of Health & Human Services.

“This funding shows our commitment to the medical research community and the health of health of our citizens,” said Congressman Cohen.

The following grant awards are included under today’s announcement:

  • Alessandra D’Azzo, PhD, was awarded $332,500 in grant funding a research project examining the relationship between excessive lysosomal exocytosis and the triggering of pathogenic mechanisms in sialidosis mice.
  • Philip M. Potter, PhD, was awarded $415,625 in grant funding for research project examining the modulation of drug metabolism.
